Vick (and ESPN’s Darren Woodson) think the Eagles could be a (wait for it) Dynasty!!

Well, if there’s one thing the Eagles certainly lead the league in it is talk (of course without the corresponding results necessary for such talk). Vick (in an interview with CSN Philly) said he thinks the Eagles have a chance to be a dynasty like the great 49er teams of the 80′s and Cowboy teams of the 90′s. Darren Woodson of ESPN apparently “has no problem with Vick saying this.”

More unnecessary boasting (without grounds) from the Eagles

Ugh, here we go again. Have the Eagles not yet learned their lesson with this kind of nonsense yet? Last year, with the whole “dream team” fiasco, the whole league wanted to shove it up the Eagles a-hole, and did quite successfully. Clearly, they appear intent on doing everything possible to make this happen again. In fact, throughout the dreadful season they continually chirped about how they were better than everyone, but amazingly, still lost. Look, I respect that Vick is confident in his team and himself, but why don’t we at least win a friggin’ playoff game (or perhaps even make the playoffs) before we even mention the word dynasty. Typically Mr. Vick, this is not even mentioned until a team wins a championship, and in most cases only after multiple championships. Just thought you should know that, because apparently you missed this memo. Would Tom Brady (3 Championships), Peyton Manning (one), Drew Brees (one), Aaron Rodgers (one), or Eli Manning (ugh, I can’t believe it but TWO championships) even whisper the word Dynasty? Hell, I bet actual leaders of dynasties like Terry Bradshaw, Joe Montana, or Troy Aikman have not even referred to their team’s success as dynasties. Get a clue Michael, and worry about performing on the field, not about how great your team is on paper. Last year, crazy confidence didn’t appear to help much, so perhaps some good old fashion humility and hard work would be a nice change of pace.

Michael, please heed Brian Fantana's sage-like advice

Also, an amusing ESPN side note on this report is that when this video is advertised on ESPN.com, it sensationally suggests that Darren Woodson whole heartedly agrees with Vick’s statement in an obvious attempt to have everyone click on the video and become even more inflamed. Well, the truth is Darren does no such thing. In fact he fearlessly prognisticated that the Eagles were (and I am paraphrasing here) “My pick to win the NFC East and go deep in the playoffs.” Wow, bold statement, way to go out on a limb there Darren. Also, as mentioned above, he only stated that he had “no problem with Vick saying it”, suggesting he has no problem with Vick’s of confidence in himself and his team. A typical innocuous (I don’t want to offend anyone) player analyst response.

I think Vick should take Brian Fantana’s (Paul Rudd) worthy advice from Anchorman following Champ Kind’s uncomfortable emotional outburst regarding his love for Ron Burgandy: “Maybe you should just stop talking for a while Champ.”

Tiger Tiger Jones y’all

The Eagles signed wide receiver Tiger Jones away from the Philadelphia Soul.  He immediately becomes the Eagles best dancer.

It all makes sense now…
